Canadian Blood Services - Medical Terminology Training (MTT)

Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization whose sole mission is to manage the blood and blood products supply for Canadians. A team of 4,600 staff and 17,000 volunteers help Canadian Blood Services operate 41 permanent collection sites and more than 20,000 donor clinics collecting approximately 880,000 units of blood annually and processing it into the components and products required by thousands of patients throughout Canada each year.

Medical Terminology Training is designed to familiarize CBS Clinic Assistants and Phlebotomists with the myriad of medical terms that are commonly used in a clinical setting and are associated with key conditions that can affect the eligibility of individuals to donate blood.

Utilizing a series of fun, interactive activities loosely based on those found in TV game shows, Medical Terminology Training allows participants to actively build their knowledge of medical terminology in a non-threatening and engaging environment that allows for trial, error and leads to mastery of the learning content.
