Writing & Editing Services
Regardless of the subject matter, our writing team has the experience and expertise to create manuscripts from scratch to your specifications, with language and style that is appropriate to your target audience.
Our experienced editors can help ensure that your written communications are of the highest quality. To assist you, we offer the following editing services, as defined by the Editors' Association of Canada:
Copy EditingEditing for grammar, spelling, punctuation and other mechanics of style; checking for consistency of mechanics and internal consistency of fact.
Stylistic EditingClarifying meaning, eliminating jargon, smoothing language and other non-mechanical, line-by-line editing. May include checking or correcting reading level; creating or recasting tables and/or figures; negotiating changes with author.
Substantive or Structural EditingClarifying and/or reorganizing a manuscript for content, logic and structure. Changes may be suggested to or drafted for the author.
Translation Services
Our team of translators, proofreaders, revisers and quality assurance managers have extensive experience in many areas and specializations. Whether you are translating a website, technical manual or corporate newsletter, our Translation Services team can deliver high-quality translations within a timeframe and budget that suits your needs.

Our ProcessIn order to achieve accurate and high-quality translations, every project follows our proven process:
- Confirm word count and client due date
- Evaluate complexity and technical nature of the project
- Determine most effective approach (individual translator or team requirement)
- Provide proposal for client consideration
- Provide sample translation for client review and acceptance (upon request)
- Assign translator(s) based in subject matter expertise and complexity of project
- Log and track project for regular status reports to client
- Schedule project and milestones to meet client due date
- Perform translation and provide regular status reports to client
- Perform Quality Assurance
- Proofread to ensure smooth flow and consistency
- Compare original to translated text
- Format for print/publish ready delivery (if applicable)
- Deliver translated work to client
We use only experienced professional translators and supporting applications such as TERMIUM Plus®, SDL Trados, Le Grand Robert, and Correcteur 101 Pro to name a few. We do not use “Machine Translation” programs because of their limitations in providing acceptable high-quality contextual translations.
Secure and ConfidentialThe confidentiality of your documents is our top priority. All information submitted to us is held in the strictest of confidentially with Clients’ data only accessible to the translator(s) assigned to each specific project.
To facilitate the secure transfer of documents gevc provides clients with access to our secure FTP site for the electronic transfer of original and translated documents.
Finally, many of our translators possess Reliability or better Government of Canada Security Clearance.
